Damon Lee McDonald, 48, of Lohrville was sentenced April 3 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary- third degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. The court found him unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Craig Robert Arthur, 45, of Ogden, burglary- second degree and unauthorized use of credit less than $1,500; Shanntell M Tiernan, 24, of Fort Dodge, theft- first degree; and Danyell Marie Freeman, 48, of Fort Dodge, driving while license barred and theft- first degree. Trial dates were set for April 28 for Arthur and Tiernan, and for June 9 for Freeman.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending April 4 as follows: Brian Alan Newton, 36, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana; Casey Roland Kennedy, 35, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana; and Michelle Ann Cook, 25, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- second offense.
